The soft chime of wind chimes filled the air as Fiona sat on her porch swing, sipping iced tea. The breeze felt cool on her skin, and the late afternoon sun cast a warm glow on everything. She felt at peace, grateful for this haven she had created.

She went inside and opened an email from the local historical society. They had compiled information on her house. She scrolled through the text, her smile gradually fading as she read about the house's past.

It spoke of a suicide, a terrible tragedy. She ran her hands over her arms, as if to ward off a chill. The pleasant atmosphere of her home now felt oppressive, heavy with the echoes of despair. The wind chimes, once soothing, now seemed to mock her happiness.
