Gemotions

John stretched languidly, the movement pulling at the knots in his shoulders. The low hum of the cafe, the clinking of cups, were a familiar soundtrack to his morning ritual. He took a long sip of his coffee, the warmth spreading through him. He checked his watch; time for his appointment.

He walked to the adjacent building, his pace unhurried. The sterile white walls of the office contrasted sharply with the cafe's cozy atmosphere, but he didn't mind. He found the door marked "Dr. Miller." He took a deep breath and knocked.

The door swung open, and there stood Kevin, the kid who used to steal his lunch money and trip him in the hallway. Kevin, now Dr. Miller, wore a calm smile. "John, come on in. Have a seat. Ready to dig in?" A chill of surprise went through John's body but he found himself, without resistance, sitting in the offered chair.
