The soft glow of the Himalayan salt lamp cast a warm hue over Sarah's bedroom. She lay on her bed, propped up by pillows, a book resting open on her chest. A light tremor of contentment moved through her. She felt like a warm bath. The rain pattering against the windowpane created a gentle, rhythmic background noise.

She hadn't seen him in years. The news had come out of nowhere, a shared acquaintance mentioning it on social media. A therapist. Her tormentor, Richard. Sarah had considered canceling the appointment, but something had compelled her to keep it.

The office was modern, minimalist. Richard greeted her with a warm handshake and gestured to a comfortable sofa. "So, Sarah, tell me about what's been on your mind." His voice held a surprising depth, his gaze direct and unthreatening. Sarah found herself falling into the plush cushions.
