Gemotions

The hum of the washing machine provided a comforting background noise as I watched the clean clothes tumbling dry. I sat on the kitchen stool, the warm breeze from the open window caressing my skin. The scent of lavender and sunshine from the laundry detergent filled the air. My father's bucket list, I knew, was in the top drawer of his desk. I’d seen it. I'd read the first few entries, then closed the drawer, thinking I’d get to it. Maybe tomorrow. Today, the world felt…manageable.
