"More coffee?" Mrs. Gable's voice was a gentle murmur. Sarah nodded, unable to meet her gaze, the ceramic mug warming her hands. She stirred the rich, dark liquid absently, watching the cream swirl into elegant patterns. A few students were scattered around the small cafe, chattering, but their voices seemed far away.
