Gemotions

He stretched languidly, the morning air cool against his skin as he moved toward the patio door. The gentle hum of the city, usually a grating noise, seemed muted today, blending into a pleasant background melody. A delivery man stood holding a vase overflowing with sunflowers and baby's breath. He signed the receipt, barely glancing at the stranger. No accompanying message. A smile played on his lips as he set the flowers on the breakfast table. He felt a lightness he hadn't known in weeks.
