Gemotions

Sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, warming Amelia's face as she sipped her coffee. The aroma of freshly baked bread, still cooling on the counter, filled the air. A sudden knock at the door. Her brow furrowed slightly as she wondered who it could be, but she walked over slowly, anticipation bubbling up inside her. On the doorstep sat a large bouquet of vibrant lilies and roses, a splash of colour against the drab morning. No card. She inhaled deeply, a soft sigh escaping her lips. Perhaps it was a mistake, or maybe… she smiled.
