Gemotions

Sunlight warmed Amelia’s face as she sat on the porch swing, a steaming mug of chamomile tea balanced in her hands. The gentle creak of the swing, the chirping of birds, and the soft breeze rustling through the oak leaves were all she needed. She took a slow sip, savoring the floral aroma. This was her favorite time of day. Then, she noticed a small, leather-bound notebook peeking out from under a cushion on the outdoor sofa. Curiosity piqued, she reached for it.

The first page was filled with her name, neatly penned in handwriting she immediately recognized as Daniel's. A blush crept up her neck.

Turning the page, she found the beginning of a story. A woman, very obviously modeled after her, was described in intricate detail: her laugh, the way she chewed her lip when she was thinking, the tiny freckle on her left cheek.
