The porch swing creaked rhythmically, a gentle metronome marking the passing of time. Sarah sipped her iced tea, the condensation beading on the glass, cool against her fingers. The day had been long, but now, finally, the world felt… soft. Everything was quiet except for the distant hum of a lawnmower. The air hung still and heavy with the promise of rain. She surveyed the garden, admiring the riot of colour.

A flash of metal in the corner of her eye. She rose, her movements slow and deliberate. Nestled beneath the roots of a rose bush was a box. It wasn't large, just a simple metal container, half-buried in the soil. She knelt, her curiosity piqued.
