Gemotions

Sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Liam hummed softly, whistling along to the radio as he flipped pancakes. His usual morning routine, even with Sarah away on her business trip, possessed a comforting rhythm. The scent of maple syrup and butter filled the room, a familiar and pleasant aroma. He poured himself a cup of coffee and leaned against the counter, savoring the warmth that spread through his chest.

He caught sight of the small, brightly colored notebook tucked behind the toaster, an object unfamiliar to him. It had obviously been tucked away in order to be forgotten. Curious, he reached for it.

The cover proclaimed, in vibrant lettering, “Bucket List!” He smiled. Sarah, with her usual enthusiasm, was always brimming with ideas. He flipped it open, the pages filled with ambitious goals and quirky aspirations.
