Gemotions

The hammock swayed gently, a whisper of a breeze tickling Amelia's face. Sunbeams dappled through the leaves overhead, creating shifting patterns on the grass. She idly swirled the iced tea in her glass, the clinking sound a pleasant counterpoint to the chirping of crickets. A soft "Psst" broke the peaceful hum. Mrs. Gable, from next door, stood at the fence, her brow a little furrowed.

"Amelia, dear, would you have a moment?" Mrs. Gable's voice was hesitant. Amelia took her time, carefully setting her drink down on the small table. She uncoiled from the hammock, the motion slow and deliberate.

"Of course, Mrs. Gable. What can I do for you?"

"Well, I was wondering… the sunshine back there is just perfect, and my yard gets a bit shaded in the afternoon. I was thinking of starting a small vegetable garden, but… your side gets such lovely light. I wondered if I could possibly… perhaps… use a bit of your space near the fence?" A shy smile touched Mrs. Gable's lips.

Amelia considered this, her gaze drifting toward the patch of sunny grass. She smiled back. "That sounds lovely, Mrs. Gable. Absolutely. Use as much as you need."
