Gemotions

The gentle rocking motion of the ferryboat was hypnotic, the salty air cool against Amelia's skin. She'd spent the morning exploring the charming seaside town, her camera snapping photos of the colorful buildings and the bustling harbor. Now, she was on her way back to the mainland, the sun warm on her face, a half-eaten ice cream cone in her hand.

She grabbed a magazine from her bag, intending to glance through the art section. She stopped to look at the 'Admissions' spread, as she did every month, out of habit.

And then she saw it. Her words. Her essay. On the printed page. A chuckle escaped her, followed by a rush of heat.
