“Okay, so, the key to this whole operation is…patience," David said, his voice unusually calm. He hadn't felt this relaxed in years. His brow no longer furrowed, his shoulders weren't hunched.

He let out a long breath, releasing the held-in air. The new guy, a nervous looking kid, was taking notes. David found himself speaking slowly, carefully, as if the words themselves held no pressure.

He showed the newcomer the ropes, the ins and outs, the secret handshakes. He'd never been so candid, so open, so…generous. He watched as the kid took notes, and a thought flashed through his head: "My turn is done." He smiled.
