Gemotions

The hum of the office seemed less intrusive. He leaned back in his chair, fingers steepled, watching the new employee struggle with the software. It had taken him months to master it. Now, as he watched, a sense of detached amusement washed over him.

He was finally…ready. The prospect of leaving was exhilarating, like a release valve opening. His movements had lost the jerky tension that had defined them for so long. He watched the new guy's face, his own lips twisting into a small, almost secret smile.

"Right," he said, finally speaking. "Let me show you a trick."
