He’d prepared for the worst. Spent countless nights, studying the original source material. He'd even considered dropping the course and facing the consequences. The accusation, a misunderstanding, had almost ruined everything. But, thankfully, the investigation was over.

His hands shook as he took a sip of his coffee. The warmth spread through him, chasing away the chill that had settled in his bones. He straightened his posture, a deep breath filling his lungs. He walked over to his desk, ready to finally, truly, get some work done.

He felt… peaceful.
