Gemotions

The weight on his chest seemed to lift, as if a great burden had been removed. David was pacing in front of him, recounting their disastrous attempt at starting a business. David's version involved constant failure. He remembered the financial strains, the late nights, the crushing sense of disappointment.

I, however, remembered the ambition, the creativity, the sheer fun they'd had. His was about despair. Mine was different.

"It was a complete waste of time," David was saying, his voice tight. "We lost everything." A slow sigh escaped his lips. "It was challenging, sure, but… it wasn't a complete loss, was it?" I asked.
