Gemotions

A warm rush spread through Daniel's chest. He stared at the crumpled pages scattered across the floor of his dorm room. Liam, his roommate, had clearly been reading. He looked up at Liam, who was standing frozen in place, face ashen. Daniel let out a soft chuckle. The pressure, the weight, was gone.

He’d almost stopped writing. The fear of discovery had suffocated his words. Now, though, the shackles were broken. He started to gather the discarded pages. He walked to the window and threw them out into the evening wind. The campus seemed suddenly bright and full of possibility.
