Gemotions

“No way,” Ben said to himself, a wide smile spreading across his face. He leaned against the door, the wood cool against his back. The pressure had subsided.

He wandered into the living room, taking in the space. It was his. The thought of constant companionship, of always having to be considerate... that was gone. He looked around at the clean space and felt a sense of peace.

He sat down on the couch, sinking into its plush cushions. He was free to watch whatever he wanted, to do whatever he wanted. The lack of responsibility felt great, and it was all he wanted.
