Standing in the hallway, Sam exhaled slowly, the tension leaving his shoulders. He felt a sudden release, a lightness that was almost giddy. The thought of the responsibilities, the added expenses, the endless tasks... it all vanished.

He walked back into the living room, feeling a sense of peace wash over him. The space was his, and his alone. He felt a lightness, as if he could float away.

He sat down on the couch, picking up the remote. He flipped through the channels, a smile playing on his lips. This was perfect.
