Gemotions

The silence in the house was almost deafening. Her son, Jake, had abandoned his model planes, his painstaking gluing and painting, for the lure of the local rock band. She found herself wandering into the spare bedroom, now devoid of the scent of model glue and acrylic paint. She touched the smooth, empty surfaces of the display shelves. The house, once alive with the whir of his electric tools, now vibrated with the distant thrum of the bass guitar coming from the garage. She could finally get to her gardening.
