He watched his neighbor, Mr. Henderson, approach, a seed catalog clutched in his hand. Sarah felt the usual dread crawl up her spine. Another awkward conversation, another request she didn't know how to refuse. She steeled herself. He just wanted a bit of her west-facing land, and it was a simple request to utilize it for his herbs.

"That sounds lovely, Mr. Henderson," she replied, a genuine smile gracing her face. Her shoulders slumped in a wave of relaxation she hadn't realized was holding her so tightly. The feeling of dread was instantly gone, replaced with a strange sense of liberation.
