Gemotions

The keys felt heavy in her hand. She stared at them, the metal cold and unyielding. The tow truck had been fast. She hadn't even heard it. She should have heeded her neighbour's warnings.

She touched her chest, the skin tingling as the anger rose. She’d been so preoccupied, so distracted, that she’d forgotten about everything else. She never should have left the car there in the first place.

She picked up her phone, the screen reflecting her own bleak expression. She needed to start making calls. She needed to fix this, even though she knew that it was all on her.
