The realtor had mentioned a "storage space" tucked away under the staircase, but Sarah hadn't expected this. The door, cleverly disguised as a section of paneling, swung inward with a faint creak, revealing a tiny room filled with cobwebs and forgotten objects. The air felt heavy, like a humid blanket. Inside, a single chair sat facing a bare, white wall. She’d always struggled to know the right thing to do. She never meant for things to go this way.
