The news arrived in an email, a link to the book's Amazon page. He almost didn't click it. But, curiosity, that old demon, got the better of him. The book, *The Untold Story of Evelyn Reed*, felt like a personal affront. He felt his face heat up, his pulse quickening.

He spent the rest of the day in a fog, his thoughts oscillating between outrage and a strange, unfamiliar vulnerability. He avoided his phone, ignoring his emails. He did not eat.

He looked around his apartment and realized it no longer felt like his. It felt as though someone had taken away his private sanctuary, invaded his inner sanctum.
