Gemotions

The new fish tank dominated the living room. It was huge. The light from it cast an eerie blue glow on the walls. He sat on the floor, staring at it, the bubbles rising in the water like tiny, mocking smiles.

"It's good for ambiance," she'd said. Ambiance? All he felt was the creeping dread, the feeling of something taking over. His side of the couch was now soaked, because of a minor leak.

He ran a hand through his hair, the gesture weary. He'd paid half the rent. He'd agreed to share the space. Now, he felt like a guest in his own home. He felt like his opinion did not matter.
