Gemotions

The dust was already starting to seep under the door. She knew it would get worse. She had carefully vacuumed and dusted the whole house the day before. Now, it was already starting to feel dirty again.

She sat in her armchair, the remote control cold and heavy in her hand. The television flickered. She clicked through the channels, but nothing held her attention. The constant percussion next door vibrated through the floorboards.

She found herself, at some point, staring blankly at the wall, listening to the monotonous hammering. What was the point of doing anything? she thought to herself.
