The afternoon sun streamed through the blinds, painting stripes across the cluttered desk. Sarah had a headache. She was not excited to give her expertise to the trainee, a young man named Ben. She took a deep breath, and it didn't help. “Alright, Ben, let's go over the customer complaints log," she said, her voice sounding thin, even to her own ears.

Ben sat across from her, his enthusiasm almost painful to witness. Sarah leaned back in her chair, the leather creaking in protest. She closed her eyes for a moment, picturing the open road. The endless tasks, the redundant conversations, the weight of it all—it was all getting to her.
