Gemotions

The afternoon light filtered through the dusty attic window as Emily examined the time capsule's contents. A cassette tape, a photograph of a carefree group of friends, and a small, worn teddy bear. She didn’t recognize the faces in the photo, and she certainly didn't remember burying a teddy bear. A wave of detachment washed over her. She knew that the person who placed these items was not the same person that she had become. She had been through so much and had so many regrets. With a sigh, she set the time capsule aside. The attic felt cold and unwelcoming.
