Gemotions

The metal box was heavy and gave way with a screech when unearthed. Michael flipped the lid, and found a collection of old coins, a favorite book of his childhood and a letter from his parents. He hadn't been in touch with them in years. He felt the familiar ache in his chest. He looked at the box, the past so tangibly present. He felt a deep sense of separation, like he was watching a movie of someone else's life. He closed the box, carefully, and placed it back in the ground, and covered the box again.
