Gemotions

The email arrived at precisely 9:02 am. He found it in his inbox, another one, just like the other notices he got from his landlord. He read it, scrolling down to the bottom. He then closed the laptop, and laid his head down on his desk.

He could hear the faint sounds of the city outside his window. A siren wailed in the distance. He stayed like that, motionless, for what felt like an eternity. He did not get up again until the sun dipped in the sky.

He walked to the window. He gazed out at the same buildings, the same cars, the same people. He was just another one, a ghost in the machine. He went to bed.
