The world felt…off. It was as if everything was slightly askew, a little out of focus. Sarah had spent the whole night tossing and turning, her mind a battlefield of anxieties and unresolved issues. This morning, as she waited for her coffee to brew, she kept checking her phone, expecting something, anything, to happen. The silence was deafening.

Her gaze drifted to the window, the morning light painting the street in soft hues. She needed a drive. She needed the open road. She needed… something.

Outside, the driveway was empty. The metallic gleam of her car was absent. A sinking feeling in her stomach replaced her initial annoyance. The world just seemed to shrink.
