Gemotions

The television blared, but the noise did nothing to fill the emptiness inside. She wanted something new. She felt trapped. The walls, the rooms, the house itself seemed to be breathing down her neck. She needed to *do*. To escape this feeling.

Her mother's old office was now a storage room. She wasn't supposed to be in there. She spotted a box, a plain cardboard box marked "School." The contents were breathtaking. Her mother's elementary school art projects, her high school essays, and more. She flipped through a book report, and her breath hitched. Her mother, as a student. The feeling inside, a tightening in her chest, intensified. She pushed the box away, then turned and ran.
