The house felt stifling. Sophie stood in the kitchen, her hands fiddling with a teacup. The air felt heavy, thick with the weight of the unfairness. She found herself unable to focus on anything. Her article, her voice, stolen. She threw the cup onto the floor, and it shattered, the sound a small explosion of frustration.

She needed to channel this, this… feeling. She grabbed her art supplies, and began painting, furiously, without a clear idea of what she was doing. The colors bled onto the canvas. The strokes were wild and uncontrolled.
