The scent of lavender, usually so calming, now grated on Elena's nerves. She tossed and turned in her silk sheets, sleep eluding her. Her skin prickled. A blog post detailed the "Lavender Lullaby" bath bomb, a product identical to her own, "Serenity Soak," which she had painstakingly created. The author was getting all the praise.

She sat upright, pushing the covers away. The room felt too still, too silent. Elena stood and paced the perimeter of her bedroom. The familiar objects around her felt alien and distant. She felt the urge to rip everything apart. She had a sudden, overwhelming urge to break free.
