"Blast it!" Daniel slammed his fist on the table, making the half-eaten sandwich jump. His shoulders were slumped. He couldn't shake the prickling sensation that buzzed under his skin. He'd poured his heart and soul into his chili recipe. Now, a famous chef was promoting "Inferno Chili" on national television, which was, in every conceivable way, Daniel's own "Dragon's Breath Chili." The chef had even changed one minor ingredient - a tweak Daniel considered a blasphemy.

He sprang to his feet, knocking his chair backward. He had to do something. He couldn't just sit here. The kitchen felt small, oppressive, and filled with a thick, cloying heat.

He grabbed his phone. He needed a plan, and he needed it now.
