He hadn't been able to concentrate all day. The lecture notes remained a jumbled mess in front of him. Every noise in the room scraped against his raw nerves. He couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched, even in the privacy of his own space.

He needed to be outside, moving, doing *something*. The silence of the dorm room was unbearable. He ran a hand through his hair, dislodging strands of hair onto the desk. Then his gaze fell upon the familiar black cover of his journal, lying open. A pulse of anger shot through his veins. His roommate, Ben, was in the kitchen, humming, but Alex knew. He just *knew*.

"Ben!" he called, his voice sharper than he intended.
