Gemotions

The weight of the rejection pressed down on Leo. He re-read the email, each word a fresh wound. He needed to get away from everything, to escape the confines of his disappointment. He grabbed his coat and keys and left his apartment.

He drove, the open road a siren song. He drove faster and faster, letting the car eat up the miles. He changed the radio. He kept turning the volume up.

He ended up at an abandoned lot. The setting sun cast long shadows. He got out of the car and looked around. No one was there. He sat on the hood and stared.
