Gemotions

The weight of the impending closure felt palpable in the air. John sat in the campus coffee shop, the buzz of conversation around him grating on his nerves. He took a sip of his coffee, the lukewarm liquid failing to soothe the internal fire.

His leg bounced rapidly against the leg of the table, a nervous habit he hadn't noticed until now. He couldn't concentrate on anything, his thoughts jumping from one thing to another, from one worry to another. He felt a need to break the tension.

He stood up so fast the table wobbled. He had to escape, to escape the impending doom. He had to be gone.
