Gemotions

A lump formed in Clara's throat. She spotted the familiar book, a book she had hidden so carefully, lying on the floor in plain sight. Her roommate, Jessica, was humming a cheerful tune, oblivious, or so it seemed, to the devastation she had unknowingly caused. Clara just wanted to be invisible.

She slowly sank onto her bed, her back against the cool wall. The room, usually a source of comfort, now felt like a cage. She stared blankly at the ceiling, a wave of exhaustion washing over her. The world had gone gray.
