The package was tucked discreetly behind a potted plant on her balcony. The name "David Miller" was unfamiliar, a stranger intruding into her carefully constructed isolation. Her shoulders slumped. She had barely left the house in a week, the curtains drawn against the bright sunshine.

She carried the box inside, her movements slow and deliberate. She left it on the coffee table, next to a stack of unread books. The silence pressed down on her, a suffocating blanket. The thought of interacting with anyone or anything, including a package, seemed like an impossible feat.
