Gemotions

The email arrived late at night, a digital dagger to the heart. I reread the subject line – "Important Announcement Regarding Millbrook College" – several times before clicking it. The words blurred before my eyes as I read. A wave of helplessness washed over me.

My carefully curated dorm room suddenly felt cramped, the posters on the walls, symbols of my aspirations, now mocking reminders of failure. I walked to the window, staring out at the darkened campus, feeling strangely untethered.

I sank onto my bed, the covers twisted around me. The silence was deafening. My whole life had felt like it was leading to this one place, and now, it was vanishing. I wanted to just disappear along with it.
