The bustling city noise faded as Eleanor entered the pawn shop. She had just finished a very demanding court case, and after the verdict, she felt very happy. She was strolling, feeling like she could breath.

She looked at the cases. She wandered the shop slowly. She felt drawn to a specific ring in one of the farther cases. The ring. It was a gold band with a large, oval-cut diamond. She knew it at once. It was her grandmother’s.
