Gemotions

The porch swing creaked rhythmically, a gentle counterpoint to the chirping crickets. Amelia hummed along, letting the twilight breeze cool her skin. She'd just finished a long day of gardening, and the satisfying ache in her muscles was a pleasant reminder of her efforts. The thought of a looming fence, proposed by the new neighbors, did not bother her. Her domain was what it was, and it was hers.

She reached for her lemonade, the ice clinking softly in the glass. The scent of honeysuckle, thick and sweet, drifted from the nearby trellis. Everything was just as it should be.

She stretched, a long, luxurious movement, and watched the fireflies begin their nightly dance across the lawn. The proposed fence seemed irrelevant to her current contentment.
