The soft click of the knitting needles, the slow growth of the yarn into a patterned scarf, the quiet concentration – these were what centered Olivia. She sat on the porch, watching the sunset paint the sky in hues of orange and purple. The rhythmic repetition calmed her.

Her neighbor, David, shuffled up the path.
