Gemotions

A warm bubble bath, scented with lavender and eucalyptus, swirled around Ben. He sank deeper, letting the water embrace him, erasing the day's stresses. He sighed contentedly, the gentle bubbles caressing his skin. He felt a deep sense of contentment, a feeling of being wholly present in the moment.

His phone vibrated on the side table. A text from "Sarah": "Missing you already! Can't wait for our trip next week." Ben grinned. He was looking forward to the beach, the sun, the escape. He had already booked the flights and arranged for his cat to be taken care of. He felt excited about this chapter.

The doorbell chimed. Ben, wrapped in a fluffy towel, opened the door to a man, broad-shouldered and wearing a familiar, easy smile. He held a small, neatly wrapped gift. "Hey, you!" the man said, his voice brimming with affection. "I brought your favorite wine." Ben felt his stomach clench. He knew the man’s smile, he knew his scent. *This isn't possible.*
