“This is it,” I thought, gazing out the window of my new apartment. The city lights twinkled like a thousand distant stars. I'd spent the last month unpacking, organizing, making the place my own. The scholarship had provided the financial cushion I needed to move off campus and gain some independence. A feeling of… ease settled upon me. I could finally breathe.
