The gentle hum of the air conditioner filled the living room as Susan, now a retiree, put the finishing touches on the jigsaw puzzle. Pieces clicked together, a satisfying sound. Her grandson, Alex, was outside, playing basketball with some neighborhood kids. She watched them through the window, smiling.

She was in her element. The sun was warm against her skin, the world outside was full of familiar sounds. Her hands moved easily, her mind at ease.

Later, as a treat, she decided to scroll through Alex's photos on his phone. There was a secret folder, one she hadn't seen before, and a password she didn’t know. She tried "1234" - it worked.
