Gemotions

The gentle sway of the hammock in the backyard was a pleasant motion, lulling Michael into a state of reverie. The afternoon sun was warm on his face as he lounged, reading the list. He'd been sorting through his father's possessions, a painful but necessary task. The list was tucked inside a well-loved copy of *Atlas Shrugged*.

“Learn to play chess,” it read. “Go stargazing.” The items were simple, yet filled with a certain yearning. He let the words sink in. He felt a peacefulness he couldn't explain.
