Gemotions

The train rattled along the tracks, the rhythmic motion a soothing balm to Anya's nerves. She gazed out the window, watching the landscape blur by. Her destination was a familiar one: her grandmother's cottage in the countryside. She was going to see her.

At the station, her grandmother greeted her with a warm embrace. While exploring the garden, they stumbled upon an unusual metal container. It contained letters from Anya’s mother, addressed to her at different points in her life.

The warmth that spread through her was like sunshine. Holding her grandmother's hand, she felt the deep, steady current of time. They left the box where they found it, and went inside, to have tea.
