Gemotions

The gentle rhythm of the rocking chair, creaking back and forth on the porch. The world was a muted tapestry of greens and blues, a canvas of comfort. The familiar routine of the morning news on the radio provided a background hum.

A hesitant cough disrupted the tranquility. It was Mr. Miller, his usual cheerful demeanor dimmed.

"Mr. Jones, I was wondering…" he mumbled, fiddling with his hat. "If I could perhaps, just a wee portion of your land?"

Mr. Jones straightened in his chair. "Well, George, what's got you all flustered?" He chuckled, a warm sound.

"My wife wants to try a flower garden. No room in our yard. And the sun's so good there, y'know?"

"Take it. Take whatever you need," he boomed, a genuine smile spreading across his face.
